CROCHET SCARVES FOR IRAQ
I NEED YOUR HELP
I said something to my brother Billy about wanting to do something for the troops in Iraq. He said "how about scarves". I think I said "that might be nice". The next thing I know he had contacted friends in the Air Force and Marines. He has collected several names already and is working on more. I need your help in making several hundred scarves. They can be any color, shape or design. (knitting is OK)  Use your favorite pattern or you can go to: www.scarf.suescrochet.com for a simple scarf pattern. With the financial mess our country is in I imagine that anyone serving in the war will be pleased to receive something homemade just for them. When you send your scarf please include a note or photo so the soldier will know that you made the item just for them. Billy is taking care of all of the expense of getting the care packages directly to the soldiers. We plan on including a few little things like playing cards, cookies, and bubble gum. Please email me at marysue@suescrochet.com and let me know that you will be sending a scarf.
Some of you will remember that we sent crochet snowballs to Iraq. They were a hit and provided some silly fun for the soldiers.
With your help we can do more. If you collect several scarves Billy said that he will send you a UPS pre-paid label. Just send me an email and we will reply with a shipping label attached.
I hope you can help. I am a little bit nervous about this project. I don't want to disappoint the folks that are collecting the names.
Do what you can.
Thanks
Mary Sue

Harvey and I have been in a bit of a disagreement about the upcoming elections. I don't mind that he says that he is going to vote for the other guy, but I do mind that he thinks I am wrong minded and should vote differently "just because he says so". I hope that you don't have someone trying to force their ideas down your throat. Of course I could just keep still and things would be better. But, I believe that I have the right to support the candidate of my choice. If I want a lawn sign in our front yard it should not be a problem. I told him that he could put the outer guy's sign out too, but he says that would look silly. He has a sign out there now. I am going to switch it with mine and see how long it takes him to notice. I will let you know how things turn out.
Remember to stand your ground. Believe in yourself, and be true to what you believe.

Take Care,
...... Nancy
